The movie 2 states is an adaptation of Chetan Bhagat's two states. The movie is all about a boy and a girl who study in the same management institute. The girl is the prettiest in the college and has many admirers who fall for her. But this guy named Krish is able to gain her attention which marks the beginning of a masaledaar story.

2 states focuses on the issues faced by inter-caste marriages. The boy hails from north India while the girl from South and their families are not ready to accept the counterparts traditions.
